Early Birthday Gift

The last time we were down at Mom's she gave me my birthday gift. I put them out in the garden and took pictures of them so she could see that I had put them out. Our garden is a little of this and that. I guess kind of rugged, if a garden could be rugged. These pieces add a little whimsy and cuteness to the space. I hope the garden makes people feel welcome, someplace where people can feel comfortable. Kind of like the inside of our house. Come in put your feet on the coffee table and relax. If you can't be comfortable why be there?

One thing so wonderful about pieces like this is that when you see them you'll think of your mom. Small treasures I have in my home and garden always remind me of a special person or time in my life.
glad you made a spot for them, BOB

Your garden looks very comfortable and inviting. What is the purple flower growing around the marker?

Thanks Laurie

Bob, I know what you mean. We try and buy a special piece when we go on vacation, there is also the family pieces and special gifts but these are all inside. These are our first ones for outside. Thanks for your comments.

David, Thanks for stopping by. The purple flowers are Calibrachoa, Million Bells, Petunia
and other one I can't think of right off. I thought it was verbena but I don't think that is correct.

Yeah, the purple blossoms are million bells petunia. My favorite petunia. They just look great anywhere.

So far I haven't been able to grow any from seed. Darn.

What cute gifts! They would fit right in with some of my stuff. :-) I love gifts from my mom because it makes me remember her. Mine gave me plants for the patio and the garden and I always think of her when I look at them. / Andrea

That is a lovely way to remember people.. I have rocks the kids painted when they were smaller still decorating my garden and it makes me smile.. I will be over to put my feet up and have a hot cup of hot raspberry cocoa!!

Nice! I think every garden should have decorations of some sort...good for remembering loved ones, and it gives you something to enjoy when the plants are sleeping.

And you are right of course, your garden should make you feel at ease, happy, at home.

You can mix the Rustic look of your garden with the whimsical.I love fantastical things in my garden from Frogs to Gnomes to Fairys.Stones with Welcome to My Garden are decorative and reflect part of yourself. If family members buy you something then they also have a connection to your garden, and you to that object.
When is your Birthday?
