Random flower pictures from the last couple of weeks

The yellow angel trumpet is always wonderful in the summer. Myself and another gardener had a discussion about its name. Datura or Brugmansia arborea, which is correct?
Gaylord looking out over his kingdom!
I believe this is Chocolate Ajuga. I am really pleased with it growth over the last couple of years. Especially like the shinny large leaves.
You know it is late July or August when the magic lilies come up.
A different angle of Gaylord. That is sum and substance hosta in the back with the caladiums.

I love the look of the Chocolate Ajuga. I will have to try some in my shade/hosta bed next year. Have you ever tried to grow from seed?

Bholland, thanks for visiting. No I have not tried to grow from seed. I usally only grow annuals from seed but it would be worth a try.

I don't think I've visited before, but found you via Jamie and Randy's blog. I visited KC MO last August and fell in love with the city, people and surroundings. (Made it to Powell Gardens and to Blue Springs, as well as Overland Park) It's fun to see how things grow so much more exuberantly in your climate than in mine. I had never seen ornamental sweet potato vines that looked like they would take over a street! My friend did tell me it had been wetter and cooler in August than in other years. I've enjoyed visiting your garden and will be back.

I have some variety of magic lily. It hasn't come up yet - but you are further south than me!
