Seeds planted
A couple of weeks ago I got out the grow lights. Actually I went out and bought new fixtures and bulbs. I had read an article in Horticulture magazine about what lights to use as grow lights. The article suggested using a cool or warm white foresent bulb with a full spectrum bulb. So that is what I bought was two cool white light bulbs and two full spectum light bulbs. I put my airplane plant babies from last fall and some herb seedlings under the light. They all seem to be doing much better now than when they were in the window.
Today I had a holiday from work for presidents day. This gave me some extra time to plant up some seeds I had saved from last year and the year before. I planted up several containers with 2 kinds of orimental peppers, double yellow Datura, white columbine and white pasque flower. We will see how it goes.

KC - good luck with your seeds! I've been busy sowing too. I did some indoors under lights for the first time and also some winter sowing outside for the first time. The WS was so much easier! I sure hope they all work.
Hi Cliff, I' m sure you will have good plants with your growing light. I wish you good luck with the seeds! I don' t like sowing indoors I prefer to do it in Autumn or Spring outside.
Is it ok for you if I do your blog in my link list?
Have a nice time Wurzerl
Hey there Cliff,
Thank you for the comment on the snow pictures. The snow didn't harm the plants but unfortunately my neighborhood was hit by and F3 tornado (a half a mile wide) this past Sunday and my gardens have been destroyed along with the majority of the houses here. I'll be posting pictures soon. I was able to clean up the garden pretty good, but today what was left was pretty much destroyed by the Bobcat hauling out the trees.I hate to leave such a depressing post, but it's amazing how you can work so hard to build something and watch it all disappear in less that three minutes. The insurance refused to cover any of the plants or ornamental trees. Not to worry, we will just have to start over and hope for the best.
Excellent, you are gardening again Cliff! I hope all your seeds will come up and will grow into sturdy plants! I've done some outdoor sowing yesterday, the first time this year.
Cliff: Have those seeds sprouted yet? Maybe we could get a shot of how they are doing? (Get my drift?)

My daughter is just back from Mizoo for the weekend and I am envious she is complaining of how much colder it is here and why do we still have snow on the ground in march so you guys and gals just get to enjoy that much more time in the garden

I hope the seeds are growing for you...I still have to get my act together!
hi Cliff, I started my flowers indoors two weeks ago and they are coming along great. Got them in the livingroom where the heater is in the floor. Of course, they popped up in no time at all. Stella helped me garden today. We had a blast outdoors in warm weather. Take care, Andrea
I've been wanting to try this but I have a cold basement. Do you think using a heating pad would provide sufficient heat?
One more thing. The link to my blog in your menue is not working. You'll need to change it to http://blog.verzaehl-mir-was.de without the *index.html at the end. :-)
Seeing all your little seedlings makes me want to get growing with seeds again, something I have not done much of in the past few years.
Thanks for the inspiration!
